Unfortunately, I think they will tell you (as you probably already know) that room type is not guaranteed and the credit card you used is just to guarantee the reservation. I have been walked to a dingy motel from the Drake in Chicago on a late night arrival and they were going to just pay for the motel room and taxi fare until I made such a fuss that they upgraded me to a suite for the rest of the stay and gave me a voucher for a free night on a future stay. I think my situation was a lot worse than yours but if you feel strongly enough about not getting your room type, making enough noise will always get you some form of compensation. However, not getting my preferred room type is not a big deal for me.
