I've never had a problem with this, though the extras are our two children. it really depends on the hotel. Hampton Inns, for example, usually add money for additional people. Most other Hilton brands do not. Then again you are talking about NYC where it may vary by hotel. Which hotel are you thinking of staying at? Perhaps a $5/night tip to the maid might help prevent your being reported.
