Red face Reservation for 2, sleeping with 3 or 4?

Hi,

We (me and 3 college friends) are currently planning a trip to NYC. As students our budget is rather limited, but we want to be quite downtown as well. So, although we realise it's not very correct, we were wondering what the odds are to get "caught" if you reserve a room with 2 or 3 and sleep with 4 in that room?

And what happens if they catch you? You just have to pay up till the regular rate? Or is there some kind of "fine"?

For those who've done it but don't want to shout it out, you can always PM me

Sorry if this is an inappropriate post, but i thought asking wouldn't hurt.

Thanks in advance for your advice
