I am typing this response on my new MacBook Pro - glossy. People have stated that reflections and glare are a factor with a glossy display. I have found none.

If I'm ever in a situation where I'd need to do some serious programming, I would plug the MacBook into an external display anyways, which all have matte.

Go for the glossy.
