Given that no AA 757 was delivered prior to 1989 (a mere 10 years before AA's first 777 and 737-800 were delivered), I can state with some certainty that your opinion that the plane was "old" is not conclusive. Most of AA's 767s are older. Many of the MD-80s are older.
On the other point, you are just plane categorically wrong. Either that, or your seat was broken. Row 6 of the 757 F seats reclines the same pitiful 25 degrees as all the other rows.
And if you're gonna make up things, at least read enough about the program first to make your fictional post believable. No upgrade from coach to first costs 75k miles.
