Apparently it now costs money to check bags on US Air at PHX. There are signs that say the cost is $2.00 per back, gratuities not included.

Do the skycaps work for US Air? I thought they were contracted out. In either case, who keeps track of the money that they put in their pockets? I find it hard to believe that the skycaps would have to reconcile their "bank" at the end of the day.

I am just curious as to who gets the money. Is it US Air or is this a way to insure that the skycaps get "adequate tips". BTW, I think these folks do deserve to be paid for their service. I just don't think that people should feel like they need to tip on top of the money that the skycap gets anyway.

Anybody know the deal?
