You can often find people selling tickets in the street outside the entrance to the Grosses Festspielhaus. I picked up a good orchestra ticket to Ariadne auf Naxos in 2001 for about half the face value (and ended up siting a couple of row away from Alberto Vilar (in his pre-felon days))
But this is not normal. The prices are normally twice than the regular price are sold.
