No, he wasn't a member - I'm not sure where he booked it, though.
Surprised to read the comment above from uclabruin82 - I'll write a trip report when I go later this year, since I plan on staying there myself for a weekend. My friend always stays in the nicest hotels in town (George V, Cipriani, various Four Seasons all over Europe, etc) and he was really impressed by Versace mansion ... I guess I'll just have to go and see for myself!
