Seriously racking up the flight credits

I've been lurking for awhile on FlyerTalk, and this is my first post to you fellow mileage junkies. I hope you find these strategies useful. They've been worth a few _dozen_ extra credits per month to me.

1. If a LUV flight requires a plane change in an intermediate city (ex. Chicago-Nashville-Tampa), book the itinerary online as two round-trips. The first one-way as Chicago-Nashville, the return flight as Nashville-Tampa. Thats 2+2 credits there, and 2+2 credits back. I have found that, depending on the competition on particular city pairs, it may even be cheaper.

2. If you have a Diners Club card and a Southwest Visa, you can REALLY pile em on. Here's how: Let's say you charge $5k per month on the DC (5 flight credits). When the bill comes due, you call up SV and transfer the DC balance over to SV. They will pay off DC and give you another 5 flight credits. Do this every month until the free tickets show up faster than you can use them.

2a. If you don't have a DC card but want to get one, email me and use me as a reference. You get 12 flight credits when you sign up, and I'll split my 6 flight credit referral bonus with you.

Good luck, fellow LUVers! Hope you see you on the big orange bus soon....
