My first reaction was surprise, but as soon as I thought about it a minute, it made sense.
Very often when I'm stressed or working through a problem, telling my partner about it means he tries to suggest fixes (as, I've read many times, is a fairly typical male response). Unfortunately, this often has the opposite effect as I then have to explain, "well, no, I've already thought of that and it won't work because of x, y, z...." and I get nowhere. Usually I just need quiet time to work through it in my head. And, hey, if I'm getting a massage while I'm doing that, all the better!
