Why point the finger at KLM - whose cabin crew generally speak at least two languages?

Because KLM is the ONLY European carrier serving GRU without local crew (native speakers). ALL other European carriers, given the relevance of GRU, use local crew for enhanced onboard product: BA, AF, LH, LX, AZ, IB, TP...all have local crew, except for KLM.

Now, KLM uses local crew for Japan and China flights, so this is nothing strange for KLM.
