Anyone on here own a Chrysler PT Cruiser? One of my neighbors recently bragged to me about how he decided to buy an American car (I own Japanese made cars). I told him if he would have bought a Camry or Accord, it would have been more "American" than his car, as those cars are assembled by American workers. The PT Cruiser is made in Mexico, and the profits go to a German company. I turned his smile upside down. Is there really a TRUE American car or plane made anymore? Even the Ford Crown Victoria is made in Canada. How is that American? This is now a global economy.
The Mustang and Focus are the two Fords built here in the US. At the Wayne Plant, I believe. Most of the trucks and Suv's are built here as well. The reason the Americans have to move the plants is the unions that are ruining them. Ford loses on average $5,000 per vehicle built here in the US. Once they out source all of the stuff to get costs under control they will bring the production back.
