It's kind of like going to Disney World's web site and seeing a list of all its rides and attractions but there's nothing really on what is a must do if you have just a day. That's the way the festival web site is and I was hoping for iinvaluable FT nput to help me narrow down my choices from such a wide range.
Is SZB very crowded as in crowded like Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras or the Sugar Bowl or Magic Kingdom on a day when it's closed for capacity reasons? Or even crazier than that?
And yes, I did make before posting a search for Salzburg restaurants on this forum. All I found was a thread in 2004 and obviously the restaurant situation in a town can change markedly in three years. I found two single posts about restaurants in other threads on other issues but no real details on the restaurants mentioned in those posts. Again, I was hoping for some input from people who have dined in the past year because at least in places where I've lived a restaurant that was fabulous six months ago can no longer be a must do as a result of a change in management or the executive chef. Or it can even be closed.
I think a must do is the "Jedermann" at the Dome place. But it is only in german, so I hope, you will understand it.
Also I am going in one of the concerts from the Vienna Philharmoniker Orchestra.
There are a lot of restaurants, who offers special menus at the festival time. It depends, if you will stay in the city or a little bit outside.
A lot of our festival guests stay at "Goldener Hirsch", which has also a good restaurant.
And believe me, SZG is crowed from people at this time !!!
If you have special question about SZG, just PM me.
