I chuckled when I put that example, because I knew someone would find a fault .

In any case, I agree with you on the capacity issue. Hopefully they won't cram more seats into the same planes. With delays pretty high this summer, I would hope policies would change to favor moves towards bigger aircraft on certain markets with reduced frequency if necessary (what's with RJ's between DCA and JFK?) But this is OT.

Another idea would be to allow increased availability for people bringing a companion along, subject to minimum fare requirements. For example, you buy an M ticket and you would get more inventory to bring your sweetheart along for the skysaver price.
