If you are connecting, and your inbound flight is late, those 10 minutes could seem like forever... and could make the difference between making and missing your connection.
I guess it may be too much to ask for people to try to stand out of the aisle when getting stuff from the overhead.
On late arriving flights it seems that whenever FAs ask that connecting paxs be allowed to deplane first, most final destination paxs still get up anyway (most of which will need to wait for baggage anyway). If you want to see how rude the American society has become, take a flight.
