I don't hate the lie-flat beds. I greatly prefer both the NW ski-slope style and the BA lie-flat, coffin style beds (even though they are 2 inches too short for me) to the more traditional seat design employed by CO and others. Not arguing that these are not investments to be taken seriously, but BA does a damn good job of filling a staggering number of TATL J & F seats (probably upwards of 600 per day out of NYC alone), so I am not so ready to say that CO has made the only right decision on this front.

All that being said, I don't understand how any sane person could get overly excited by the 787. Once the airlines stuff 6-abreast up front and 9-abreast in the back, they will just be a narrower 777, with higher humidity, bigger windows, and new lighting. Whoop-de-doo.
