Couple of thoughts @:-):

1- the warmed nuts only come out with pre-dinner drinks, never at boarding;

2- on Europe flights proper Champagne (Drappier on AC) is not served at boarding time either; pre-flight drink offered is non-descript sparkling wine.

So, I guess there's nothing to feel bad about as the "huddled masses" pass through the J cabin before takeoff. Luckily those who travel on 333/343s don't really have to worry too much as boarding most often takes place through L2...sharp right turn straight into Y, left into J !
