Really nice post! I totally agree with everything you said. Having never travelled business, but wished I had, travelling a lot, and qualifying this year for my first time as an elite, I've witnessed some abominable behaviour from SEs, and Es who feel entitled to their early boarding, legroom, and good food.

A question for those who travel J frequently: what is the established code of conduct as the unwashed masses pass you eating your warmed nuts and drinking your champagne? Bury your head in the newspaper like already mentioned? Stare straight into space hoping it all ends soon and they close the curtain already? Very interesting human psychology actually. Rarely, if ever, have I made eye contact with a J pax as I've travelled through, since I think they're probably feeling guilty about their comforts (and they know what the rest of us are in for!)
