"One of the first steps is to gain alliance membership. Air France has agreed to sponsor Air Algerie for Skyteam membership, says Air Algerie Chief Executive M. T. Benouis. It is not clear when Air Algerie would be absorbed into the airline grouping, but it will likely take several years."
