I have been able to extend an upcoming stay in Munich. So I'd really like to do a day trip to Salzburg. We'll be there during their big Mozart-themed festival.

I'm looking at going on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Will the trains and city itself be really crowded then? What festival events are must dos? And suggestion for a place for lunch or an early dinner?
