I'm baffled by all the choices for lodging in Hakone and how hard it is to figure out total price. My folks will be visiting in mid-October. We are thinking of taking Odakyu Romancecar Freepass down Saturday and returning late Sunday. I understand this is a peak season due to the fall leaves. We are looking for hotel/ryokan that has western style rooms with in room bathroom. We would be interested in one that includes both breakfast and dinner. Two that we saw on link above are Hakone Hotel Kagetsuen and Hotel Green Plaza Hakone at these two links:

Any feedback on these properties?

As I said, I can't figure out pricing. If we wanted to stay to under 45,000-en per room, what would be our best choices? I see you book hotel as package through Odakyu service center in Shinjuku; is this a good deal? Can October be booked already (seems that online booking sites don't go that far out)?
