If you do stick to the drive to Soo Falls, there is the world famous "Tea Steak House" in Tea, South Dakota (used to be anyway). Tea is tiny town south of Soo Falls just off I-29. Pretty ordinary steak house but well known to regional travelers in upper Midwest.

Grew up in Soo City so know the reputation the city has for the aromas emanating often from the stockyards as you come up I-29 along the Missouri River into town. There may or may not be a large pile of natural fertilizer to view with a quaint sign advertising the world's largest _____ pile, something to that effect.

The old old stockyards bldg tried to turn itself into a major tourist destination but never really caught on. Don't know what it's like these days. Used to have a kid's pizza place inside with a mechanical rabbit delivering pizzas straight to your table. Little kids thought it was really cool!

Soo City is home to Jolly Time Popcorn Co and to Sue Bee Honey, but very few really good restaurants that would entice one to take time out of road travel between OMA and Soo Falls.
