After seeing how AA and UA domestic passengers fit monster size bags in the overhead lockers, it just shows how backward QF is with accommodating carry-ons (or doing a refit to make the bins bigger). I used to be amused at the US domestic "kitchen sink" carry-on mentality, but I can now see that it works.

With better sized overhead bins, perhaps QF could rely less on checked baggage (and all this entails).
