You are correct, Dineaux. Since the Capital House/Hilton opened, I've suffered through bad housekeeping, poor air conditioning, and a general lack of customer-care. They are doing little maintenance on the rooms (walls scarred, etc...), the shower water controls are falling apart (my stay last Saturday the water in the shower stuck "on" in the hot position, and the Executive Level price is outrageous for what you get (only 10 rooms or so actually have balconies overlooking the river and now the view from 8 of the rooms has been blocked by new trees).
When I tried to talk to the General Manager a few months back in the Executive Lounge he was more interested in watching a football game than speaking to me.
Based on my continued poor experiences with this property they've seen their last dollar from me.
Fortunately, I understand a new Marriott is being built near Perkins Rowe (the old Swaggert dorm debacle building) and it will contain a Brennan's Restaurant. Also, I'm hearing rumors of a new W Hotel to be built near the current Marriott Hi-rise.
It's a tragedy what's happening at the Hilton Capital Center/House. Last Saturday they were at 20% occupancy (according to the staff) and most of the Executive Floor was empty and no Gold or Diamonds were upgraded because of the General Manager's policy.
I had high hopes when the property opened but I've given up on it now.
