O.K. - so this is like the post I've been waiting for apparently as this is (currently but not forever) my neck of the woods. First off, is there any particular reason why you want to drive to Sioux Falls for the night? I live just north of FSD and have spent a little time in OMA and feel like, honestly, there are better restaurants, etc. in OMA. If you have your heart set on coming up this way - send me a PM and I can suggest restaurants, etc. in FSD. It's really not that bad - no traffic, friendly people, decent enough food, good coffee, good beer and all for under what you'd pay for a single mineral water in NYC.
Oh, and airports...to fly out of it all when you need to.

Well, again, there's nothing to see at night, so I might as well spend the time getting myself to the "staging area" to begin the next morning. That way, I have all of Sat to drive to OMA. If I don't then to accomplish my goal, I'd have to drive up to Sioux Falls, then turn right back around.
I really don't plan on doing much in Sioux Falls except to physically be there. I figure I wake up, have breakfast, then drive away
So a good breakfast place would be good, otherwise I'm going to look for a Cracker Barrel.
Oh, and an important question for me... how do the local cops treat speeders? Speed limit only? 5 over? 25 over? :-:
