I'm honestly surprised that more of you frequent travelers don't frequent Residence Inns. Any particular reason?

As someone who spends more than 100 night/year in hotels, I really like the RI atmosphere. It feels just a little more like home than the standard hotel scene.

Last night in STL, they had a pretty decent manager's BBQ. Nothing fancy, just burgers and dogs and the fixins, but lots of free Bud Light and Amber Bock. Wine too. For me, it was perfect as I really didnt feel like going out for dinner last night.

Not true about all RIs having happy hour. I stay at the Redmond Town Center RI in WA frequently and they have eliminated their happy hours completely.

I agree that the atmosphere at a RI is more like home, but for the life of me, i don't understand why Marriott Rewards members only get half the points.
