I don't know about frozen, but I've packed some frozen items and they were still cold 10 hours later.
It's hard to find specialty foods in my little corner of Alabama. So, I'll buy prosciutto, linguica, pancetta in PHL or SFO or where ever I might be. I freeze it overnight and put it in the middle of my checked luggage.
No problems yet. God help me if my bag's ever delayed.
