dowgradable upgrade
Just got back from an ORD-CPH-BGO roundtrip.
On the way out, I had a row of three seats to myself. Then I noticed that the tray tables are in the armreasts, so they can't be raised up. Arrggh! Maybe I'll have to go back the the ARN flight for the economy class 'bed'. (No more low-cost sleeper...) However, the laptop power in economy extra is really nice.
On the way back I wasn't able to get a seat assignment in for the CPH-ORD segment in BGO. When I finally talked to somebody there, they said that my class didn't exist on that flight, and he booked me in a business class seat. The guy next to me had also been op-upgraded. Did SAS just do-away with Economy Extra on that flight? (It was still an Airbus plane.) Or could they just have had so many economy and so few economy extra and business that they just put the economy extra in business to fill more seats.
Also for the CPH-Bergen, the plane was an Md-87, which was increadibly cramped. The return was on a Dash-80 which seemed to be a lot more roomy. Is there a place I can find the seat pitches on the various SAS aircraft?
(As an odd note, my last three flights have had the ORD-Scandanavia segment mostly empty while the Scandanavia-ORD was packed. I like to call it luck...)
