Didn't they use a Trident at LHR until last year for crew training?
Oh and if the latter Tridents had a self thrusting APU would this technically make it a four engined aircraft. And aren't they planning something similar for a IGW stretch of the 773. Still I was overjoyed to learn that the new A350 will have a VC10 landing gear because they can't make the wing strong enough to attach to the rear spa. Makes you wonder about carbon fibre.
I never did get to fly on a Trident, BAC1-11 or DC10. Still I'm booked onto Luftwaffe's JU 52 later this summer at an airshow.
