Sad to say, I don't miss them either. Most trips were (thankfully) un-memorable, the only distinct memory being a trip from LGW-MAN for a wedding one Friday evening just after the Tory party conference had finished - IIRC the one where Maggie made the "ladies not for turning" speech. They, of course, couldn't get the left engine to start, and I remember a man driving up in a Vauxhaul Viva van with a set of builders steps on the roof. He disappeared round the back, presumably with a Birmingham screwdriver, followed a few minutes later by a satisfying roar. Then they had to shut it down again, push back, taxi to the far end of the runway, and test the engine again before takeoff. Very reassuring.....
