Indeed, and the pax had a view from the flightdeck camera all the way along the runway, into the air and then down into the car park at ORD. They stopped using flight deck cameras for on-board entertainment after that. Mind you, some have brought them back. IB have them on the 340-600s and it was useful to check that the crew broke two parts of Colombian air law when I last used them. In there defence, they did get an ATC clearance for it, so naughty ATC!

I remember my father looking at the wing engine mounting arrangements on the DC-10. His comments were "If I designed something like that when I was a junior engineer at Rolls Royce, I would have been given a severe warning. Second time, I would have been fired."

Comforting to know that when Airbus ran out of money with the A300 project, then they just bought the whole engine mounting system from the company that designed the DC-10, without alteration.

Spottie, if you didn't see it did you hear it ? ! I did hear something which was rather noisy last week, so, adding one and eleven to get twelve, I think I know what it was.

There is also a -400 series 1-11 which is sitting around the ramp at TIP at the moment as a State aircraft, but not sure if it has been used. It was given to Green Flag enterprises as a payment against debts by an island in the Med which is a trading partner with that country.

Ah, the 1-11 with hat racks. I have not thought about it, but I assume that Boscombe Down has disposed of their fleet of 1-11s now. Still, the last aircraft I flew on with hat racks was a 737-200 last year. Try getting your BAA approved case in the overhead at that point.

I always felt a bit cheated that BA took us over just when the A320s were coming aboard (which shows that they must be 20 years old next March if we still have them).
BUSB serial number 006 is registered, I think I remember seeing it at LHR a couple of months ago.
BUSC 008 registered, as above.
BUSD 011 is off the register as withdrawn from use. Cut up into large chunks at Lasham about three months ago.
BUSE 017 registered, might be around but not seen it recently
BUSF 018 registered, seen around recently
BUSG 039 registered, was around a month or so ago
BUSH 042 registered, not see it for a while.
BUSI 103 registered, was around a couple of months ago
BUSJ 109 registered, the dog of the fleet was around a couple of months ago
BUSK 120 registered, always seems to be on MAN shuttles when I am up there.

Of course, you can tell that you are on a G-BUSx because they do not have winglets unlike the newer versions. It came as a bit of a shock to some Airbus employees designing modifications to put antennae in the winglets
when I pointed that out to them.

First Class with full recline is the only place fit for you.
Thank you dearest, of course, you know that Spottie is in F if you see someone sleeping "head first" as opposed to feet first. However, I fear that I am still stuck down the back of the 777s on PteryAAdAActyl AAirlines (and 767s, MD80s, 737s....)

Back to the bits but slightly distracted by memories of Comet 4s in Dan-Air colours....
