Elite traveller :

Yes, same one. It is operated by a Romanian charter company. Aircraft in question is #260, built in 1984 and delivered to McAlpine Aviation, an offshoot of the construction company, who were a major force in British business jets in the 1960s-80s. It has passed through several hands since. For the old Gatwick One-Eleven fans it came through there only last week, 6 June, the first One-Eleven into Gatwick for several years. Spottie, if you didn't see it did you hear it ? !

For those who think the One-Eleven is a quintessentially British aircraft, towards the end of its production run all the tooling was sold to Romania where they assembled several themselves, although apart from the national airline Tarom there were few takers in the end. Among these few though was a certain startup airline in Ireland, Ryan-something, who leased several as their first jets. Cheap, of course. So Romania is still a centre of knowledge on the aircraft. The aircraft in question here was one of the last built in Britain.

Video interesting but Mrs WHBM required an explanation about why I was repeatedly watching a video of THAT GIRL and I'm not sure the reply was convincing !

Pucci :

No reason to regret memories of the One-Eleven. It was my first ever jet flight (British Eagle G-ATPI Liverpool to Heathrow 1968). Rocketing down the old short runway at Liverpool opened up a new world, never looked back.

Anyone equally sad can spend half an hour here :
