I thought the same thing when I saw that article. I think they've just pushed everything up a notch. My "favorite" thing was that they neglect Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental. OK, maybe MO isn't that big, but FOUR SEASONS?!? Their explanation that they didn't have enough votes is ridiculous. Of course FS is going to have fewer votes - fewer people stay there!

And of course I would consider Hyatt, Westin and Renaissance a different level from say Sheraton. And Fairmont is different than Ritz-Carlton. Half the time the hotels they are ranking are competing in totally different markets.
