Just remember, the "flat-tire" exception, is not necessarily always easily given, and especially if you are switching terminals (even if co-terminals). Of course, it would be much safer to stand by for an earlier flight - but you don't have that option.
Haha maybe I'm a little way too optimistic. I've ALWAYS (as in 100% of the time) made it on stand-by's because of status, so I've always thought of stand-by as "guaranteed." But you're right. Its not guaranteed, and I probably just been real lucky. Thanks for bringing me back to reality.
