TSA did not seem to know what the rules are, so they have now filed charges against him for transporting dangerous/hazardous materials on a commercial flight, punishable with 5 years in jail & a $250,000.00 fine.
Needless to say, his employer has a team of lawyers on the case & I hope it turns out well for my friend. Best case scenario though, is that his name will now be on the "watch list" for the rest of his life.
Excuse me, but every laptop in the world runs on LI-Ion batteries & a large number of those laptops end up on plane. I would venture a guess that most pax have a second battery in their carry-on. What's the difference?
Anyone know what the real rules are concerning LI_Ion (or any other batteries) on a plane?
Even the AA cell in my Bose is Li+. ...???
