The 10/06 change to the award levels say that indeed UA-metal interisland awards are now 10K.

But of course UA has none of its own. (Yes, I know that UA flies OGG-KOA, but you can't book it standalone )

The Island Air and Aloha partner awards (and -- NOTE -- you have to ask the CSR to check both airlines if you want options on both. Many are not even aware of Island Air, and some think that Aloha and Island Air are still the same airline) though are indeed still 5K.

You will have much better luck with this if you don't get the outsourced call centers.

I booked three tickets on AQ two months ago (much as I hate flying Aloha interisland) and two on WP this past week. Indeed, 5K each.

Last year I wrote UA and said that it was frustrating to be charged a fee for not using the web site to book such tickets when one can't use the website to do so! (And pointed out the five tickets I'd bought and the fees I'd paid for not doing what I can't do). They sent me vouchers that were more than the cost of the fees.
