had the dubious honour of spending many hours on the DHL aircraft flying to and from Bahrain at the end of 2002. I had more hours sitting in the cockpit of the aircraft than the crew did, thanks to many years of jumpseating.
I too enjoyed the pleasure (loosely) of jumpseating on the DHL B757 to and from BAH, couldn't beat that feeling of pain at rotate at around 0400 from BRU straight into the rising sun, sitting bolt upright on a crew seat desperate to fall asleep, but physically unable to. That was on the PF before the sad events of July 2002. I never jumpseated on the SF's, but believe they had more room due to door 1L being further back and not just a 'hatch' to enter the aircraft through. Regrettably the operation in Bahrain changed for the worse, IMO, after the accident, very unfortunate, as it was a great bunch of guys to work with.
