Why get upset at people who are just trying to be friendly. Heck, if you really do not want to tell them, make up a story. Just say "Oh, I work for a major accounting firm" or something like that... and then turn away. They will probably get the message.

While I am a private person, I am proud of what I do and am happy to share that with others. Free advertising for my company...
