I am holding an MP award ticket on Air China (CA), with OK's on it. Calling CA, CA couldn't find the record. Someone in UA said for some carrier, such records will not show up in their systems until so many hours before departure.

Does anyone have such an experience?

If CA refuses the boarding, what can the passenger do? Go back to UA (UA does not fly the route), what compensation can be asked?
