Is 1:20 long enough to safely interline luggage AS->DL at SEA?

Pretty much all in the title. We are connecting SMF-SEA on AS to SEA-JFK on DL with 1:20 layover. We are overnighting in NYC connecting the next day to AF to CDG and I would hate for my luggage to go missing along the way. So do you think (given as luggage services in SEA) that my bags will make it safely, or should I try for an earlier flight on AS from SMF-SEA?

Thanks for opinions/advice.
