NEVER hang up, that could trigger a nasty note in your record by an insulted CSR. Instead, if it looks like they need to talk to the Rate Desk, I simply nicely have my pager go off loudly, so I can excuse myself politely and advise that I'll call back. Then, thank the CSR for taking the time and making the effort for 'offering' to contact the Rate Desk on my behalf. Then, always calling them by name, thanking them in general.
