Perimeter / radius?

I flew LGA-DEN-SAN around 2x / month for a year and a half (2004-2005), and the LGA-DEN segment is 1619 miles. My wife just flew LGA-DEN-SJC 2 weeks ago, so I know those flights are still operating. Has the perimeter / radius been enlarged, or does UA have some sort of special exception for those flights?
