No way! Give credit where credit is due. It doesn't seem like this crew deserved something extra for doing only the minimum. In our market-based economy hard work should be rewarded--not mediocrity. Keep the truffles and save them for a crew who really deserve them. Just my 2c.
As a side note, when I first started teaching middle school, I thought I was doing kids a favor by praising their work all the time even when the didn't do their best work. It didn't take me long to realize that giving praise when it wasn't deserved, only served to make my praises seem empty to those kids who deserved them and encourage mediocrity for those kids who didn't. As the bulletin board in my elementary classroom read, "Attitude matters." Maybe those posters about about having learned everything you needed to learn in elementary school are true.
