Flightdeck Gossip - NOT a TFTG!

Yesterday we heard some rather interesting snippets which I thought I would share with you here.

The 757 Capt coming up from LIS mentioned that he was going to Cranebank for simulation and safety refreshers. I asked how long the 757 would be around as it is getting rather long in tooth. He said that interestingly it was on the few categories of aircraft that BA actually owns. Furthermore he said that after T5 comes on stream - 8 of them were going to be stationed at T3 (why?). He said that they were expecting to have another aircraft based out of Frankfurt and other European cities (Madrid was mentioned) to do Transatlantic routes. So he thought that the aircraft would be around for rather a while even though the A321 had far better fuel consumption . The 757 is now about 22 years old at BA.

I offer this to you for what it is worth.

From the galley they told me that there had been more complaints about the Blue Top than anything else since the catering strike 2 years ago and that they had brought the big bottles to try and calm people down.
