CO arrival and departure times for CNS are god-awful. IIRC the arrival into CNS is just after 11pm and the departure is just after 12am. When arriving into CNS and trying to connect on to SYD, you usually have to kill ~6-7 hours either at the airport or trying to find something to do in Cairns (with your bags). There is a casino open till about 3 or 4 am, which is where I headed instead of trying to sleep at the airport while waiting for my 7 am flight to SYD on Virgin Blue.
