My wife and I each have had one utterly worthless secondary in STL. TSA definitely is overstaffed there.

Last year I won the gate lottery in NRT. While they were rumaging thru my bags, I was asking my director (who happened to be on the same flight) & my wife if they were feeling any safer.

Yesterday I flew AA on the 9:20 flight MSP-ORD. This was an MD Super-80 scheduled to continue on to SLC around 11:25. There four of TSA's highly trained officers standing by to harass the passengers getting on for the next leg. We spent a couple hours in ORD (walked over to the NW lounge) before we hit the streets -- I didn't see them set up for gate inspections anywhere else.

Just remember to insist they put on clean gloves. In STL one of the two highly trained TSA officers who pawed through my carryons wasn't even wearing gloves.
