If you could break your stay into two segments (with the first having enough for Gold) without causing issues with the rate you could qualify on points at the earliest opportunity. You won't get an extra stay credit since back-to-back stays only count once, but you'll get the gold for the later stay. I'm sure if you talk to the manager after a couple of days into your stay he'd be willing to help, especially if you explain that your time in his hotel is pushing you straight to Diamond.
