AFAIK the only way to do *A upgrades was online. Calling in would result in an agent going to the exact same site as you would. This is the same for most *A carriers, by the way. ANA told me they couldn't do anything over the phone and I'd have to try online.

So yes, right now, no *A upgrades for MP members.
