Thats my thoughts too - the difference is that the charge last year was not a "deposit" but a part payment of a bill. I am guessing by the lack of comment that the hilton wont draw a part payment
It would depend on the hotel policy, but many hotels allow a certain amount of credit, and if you hit this amount they can ask for payment. It has happened to me a couple of times on extended stays (although my extended stays tend to be at serviced apartments rather than hotels
).
