I don't think there is any secondary screening for US departures anymore. It used to be (at least 1 1/2 years ago) that all flights to the US departed frm the end of pier B, cordoned off by a secondary security screening.

I haven't flown to the US lately, but US flights were departing from the gate opposite to my flights to Switzerland - and there was no apparent secondary security screening for the US flight.

To answer your question, I would say, yes, you can take it onboard.
